Hope did it right

The problem with Joe's answer is that

When we expand the equation we will get

[tex](8x - 12)(x + 1) \\ = 8 {x}^{2} - 12x + 8x - 12 \\ = 8 {x}^{2} - 4x - 12[/tex]
