A triangle has an area of 54 m2 and a height of 9 m.

How long is the base of the triangle?

The formula for the area of a triangle is (base × height)/2. We know that the height is 9, so we can reverse the formula:
(base × 9)/2 = 54
× 2

÷ 9
base = 12
