How do you factor 6x^2+14x+4

(3x+1) (2x+4)

When the first number has multiple factors (like 6) it often times seems to be the factors that are closest together (3×2 instead of 6×1) So I usually use that as a starting point and play with the numbers until you find your answer. The more you do it, the easier it gets. And remember to always check your answer!
